Hospital Auxiliary
For over 85 years, Elmhurst Hospital Auxiliary has served to raise funds in support of the services and care provided by NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, our local publicly-funded hospital.
Our mission at Elmhurst Hospital Auxiliary is to fundraise for NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst and to support its commitment to providing quality healthcare for our community. We accomplish this mission by providing avenues for individuals, corporations, and philanthropic organizations to support the programs and services provided by the hospital.
We are a volunteer membership-based organization and rely on the support of our incredible team of members and volunteers to raise support for the hospital through fundraising events and individual donations.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst is one of a family of healthcare facilities. The hospital serves one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse areas in the nation. Our community of service encompasses almost one million people. The hospital provides care for patients from all over the world. Patients speak many different languages and bring unique beliefs and customs that reflect their cultures.
The staff at Elmhurst is passionate about providing conscientious and respectful care. The hospital believes that every patient deserves quality care and is dedicated to providing that high level of care for everyone who walks through our doors.
DEDICATED TO EXCELLENCE IN WOMEN'S & CHILDREN'S HEALTH
Elmhurst has long been a leader in maternal and child health, starting a century ago in 1918 with the establishment of the first children’s health center in the United States! In 2017 alone, over 4,000 babies were delivered at Elmhurst. The Women’s Health Service program at Elmhurst provides an extensive range of specialty healthcare services. The obstetrics and neonatal intensive care services at Elmhurst lead all other healthcare facilities in the borough of Queens in providing the most comprehensive care.

Elmhurst is a leading medical facility in Queens for stroke and cardiac arrest patient care. Since August 2004, the hospital has maintained its standing as a designated Stroke Center, with an extensive and specialized stroke team consisting of neurologists, emergency medicine physicians, and emergency medicine nurses.
Both the Emergency Department and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Elmhurst use the revolutionary “Cooling Therapy” treatment technique. Elmhurst also is a leader in Queens for multiple surgical specialties. NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst was the first hospital in the borough to receive approval for performing Elective Angioplasty procedures and the first public hospital in New York City to use the da Vinci surgical robot for laparoscopic surgery.
The Hope Pavilion is a leading-edge cancer treatment and care center that was founded in 2008. This facility now houses some of the most groundbreaking equipment for cancer treatment available in the United States.
Elmhurst works with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine as a teaching institution in order to facilitate the education of the next generation of healthcare providers.
